Anthony Brown has been an entrepreneur and digital media infrastructure pioneer in Canada for nearly two decades. In 2001, Anthony co-founded Seven Group, a technology integrator with a focus on supercomputing, data management, and digital media. Seven Group rapidly became the leading integrator for technology infrastructure for animation, visual effects, and video game studios in Canada and around the world. Anthony was subsequently co-founder and CEO of Infinite Game Publishing, publishers of the highly successful MechWarrior Online. Anthony founded AMPD in April 2015 to combine his expertise and passion for technology, digital media and high-performance computing.
CTO & Director
Don Bustin is a technologist with over 20 years of experience across both start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. Don's tech expertise spans development and DevOps, through to solution and enterprise architecture. As co-founder and CTO of Infinite Game Publishing, Don built the team and full online publishing platform for IGP’s inaugural titles, while implementing the production infrastructure required to support major game launches without incident. In his capacity as co-founder and CTO of AMPD, Don continues to apply his expertise and insights to fuel AMPD's growth as an emerging global brand, synonymous with high-performance-computing excellence.
James Hursthouse is a twenty-year veteran of the global games and digital media sector. He has proven success across content development and publishing, infrastructure and technology for ‘games as a service’, and more recently with new technologies such as mixed reality, blockchain and artificial intelligence. After spending the first half of his career in Asia and Silicon Valley, he moved to Vancouver, BC in 2010 to co-found and be the CEO of Roadhouse Interactive, a mobile gaming studio that grew to 180 people at its peak. Between 2016 and 2018, James served as the Executive Director of DigiBC where he continues to serve on the board. As CSO of AMPD he is tasked with helping drive the organization to achieve its goals and vision.
CFO & Corporate Secretary
John Ross is a senior financial management professional with more than 30 years of private and public company experience. He is currently the interim CEO (since May 2019) and CFO (Since February 2017) of Hempco Food and Fiber Inc. (TSXV), part time CFO of U3O8 Corp. (TSX) since June 2010, and part-time CFO of Buccaneer Gold Corp. (since September 2016).
Mr. Ross holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario which he received in 1984, and he obtained his CA designation in 1987.
Vice President Operations
Paul Mari has been an executive in technology for over 20 years. He was CEO of Kazootek Technologies, a gaming and financial transaction developer. He was also COO of eBanx, a payment transaction company. He co-founded Seven Group, a technology systems integrator specializing in data management and high-performance computing where he helped lead the company to its dominant market share in Canada in the visual effects, animation and video game sectors. Paul became President of the Technology Division at Infinite Game Publishing after it merged with Seven Group in 2011. Paul co-founded AMPD in 2015.
Frank Roberts brings over 20 years of IT management and leadership experience at video game development studios to AMPD. Frank has personally helped to ship more than 20 AAA game titles during his career, and translates that expertise to helping a range of digital media companies with their technical requirements. He has a passion for tackling the challenges of architecting thorough and effective solutions for game development, animation, VFX, AI and deep learning, and helping customers leverage the latest technologies to support their business goals.
Geoff O'Donoghue has experience in sales and business development for both computer graphics and data analysis solutions. Prior to joining AMPD, Geoff led business development at Artomatix – a Dublin-based software company that focused on developing AI-assisted art tools for 3D content creators globally. His customers included several leading games and visual effects studios. Artomatix was acquired by Unity Technologies in 2019, forming the basis of the highly-regarded Unity ArtEngine solution. Following the Artomatix acquisition, Geoff moved to Vancouver in April 2019, where he joined Radical I/O Technology – a people-first technology consultancy and lab that specializes in enabling meaningful and actionable insights based on real time big-data analysis and processing.
Naomi Kawasaki brings over 16 years experience as a project manager in the technology sector to assist AMPD's customers and partners. Her expertise has helped emerging brands build PMO offices, setting implementation standards for onboarding small to enterprise clients across Canada and the United States. She is adept in developing specific step-by-step guidelines for project and implementation managers to adhere to within organizations. She is responsible for building close relationships and liaising between clients, other stakeholders and the technical team at AMPD, ensuring a successful onboarding experience for every project and deployment.
Sales Consultant, Montreal
Pierre Couture has been a technology trendsetter and business innovator in the digital media space for over twenty-five years, most recently as Director of Sales, North America for technology integrator, Annex Pro, and prior to that as the lead Account Executive for Media and Entertainment for Lenovo in North America. Pierre is currently AMPD's primary point of contact for the games and digital media sector in Eastern Canada, working with a range of customers on their requirements for development and deployment of cutting-edge digital entertainment experiences.
Special Projects Consultant
Sang Mah has enjoyed a multi-faceted career in digital media, encompassing content creation, technical research and development, and private public partnerships. Prior to her current roles, Sang spent eight years leading a national non-profit organization supporting industry-academic collaborations and consortiums across all disciplines. Other former roles include Director of Interactive at Bardel Entertainment, and executive roles with local tech start-ups. Sang has managed multi-million dollar research projects and participated in two university spin-offs from SFU. She has a MSc in Computing Science (Animation & AI). She is an active member of the leadership committee for Spark CG / Vancouver SigGraph.
Board of Directors
Howard Donaldson has over 20 years experience as a senior operating and financial executive at global entertainment and technology companies including Disney Interactive, Electronic Arts Canada, McGraw-Hill Education Group and Vanedge Capital (Venture Capital).
Mr. Donaldson is a proven leader and has demonstrated success as a business partner to executive management teams improving operating and financial performance. He was instrumental in setting up new interactive studios, directing strategic plans, pursuing business development opportunities and implementing best practices.
Markus Windelen is a games industry professional with more than 20 years management experience in executive leadership roles. He has a proven track record at global interactive entertainment companies including Atari, Gameforge and Six Foot. He combines strategic thinking and commercial acumen with leadership skills. Mr. Windelen has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to advocate, secure and deliver to market forward thinking projects both in traditional and online free-to-play game business models. He has experience negotiating product acquisition and numerous software development, intellectual property license and technology agreements.
Ravinder "Rob" Kang
Rob Kang has been self-employed since April 2015. He was the director of Listed Issuer Services and held other positions with TMX Group from March 1992 to March 2015. He is a corporate finance professional who is experienced in all aspects of CSE policy, corporate governance and public company obligations.
Mr. Kang is currently the principal of RSJ Consulting Inc., a firm that provides corporate finance advice. Mr. Kang received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1988 and obtained his C.A. designation at Ernst and Young.
Stephen Hynes is an expert in social architecture, caring deeply for building a brighter future. His work ranges from building development to the design and construction of data centres and data centre control systems that contribute to more efficient buildings with decreased carbon footprints and increased urban resiliency. His early work on integrated systems proved key to the design of The Waterfall Building in which AMPD’s DC1 proof of concept data centre is now located. Steve's energy and creativity are the driving force behind Hynes Developments, a division of Hynes Group – a North American real estate development company focused on creating environments that are responsive to the needs of people.
